Refining Metal and the EnvironmentThe Refining Process
Our refinery takes this responsibility very seriously and has installed new state-of-the-art processes that reduce waste products by 75%. Any waste products we produce are strictly treated so that any releases from the refinery are environmentally friendly. Take an in-depth look at the refining process. Air Treatment
The scrubbing process will remove any harmful particles from the air.
Water Treatment
There are numerous statistics regarding how much ore is required to produce one ounce of gold. Some quote one ton, although as mining progresses and natural resources decrease, this figure is probably on the low side. The sure fact is that mining "new" gold has a negative effect on the environment.

The refining process involves the use of solid, liquid and gaseous chemicals that are potentially harmful to the environment. It is the responsibility of any refinery to make sure that these chemicals do not find their way into the environment.
All gas waste products generated at our refinery are treated in our air treatment plant. Powerful air extraction units pull furnace exhausts from the processing areas into our air treatment system, where it is scrubbed and filtered before it is released back into the environment.
All liquid waste used in the refining process is NOT discharged into the sewer system. Our treatment facility removes all harmful materials from the water before this water is evaporated. Only then do we allow it to enter the ecosystem. There is no discharge to the local water system.
All of the precious metals we refine are recycled into the jewelry industry and manufactured into other products that are sold to the jewelry retail trade. These start as sheet, wire, tubing and casting grain. From there, they are manufactured into jewelry findings, castings and finished jewelry. Our refinery believes in taking care of our environment and helping to preserve our planet as well by re-using precious metals and not mining new ones.
